Christmas Carols - the intrepid band of Lions and helpers were there as ever to visit and spread Christmas cheer. Father Christmas was there, to meet the children, handing out Pre-Christmas treats and making sure they had been good throughout the year.  The residents of Crowborough were as generous as ever and in the true Christmas spirit, contributed over £1300.00 to help with our Community Charity work for 2017.

This year, due to problems with the towing of the sleigh, the event was in danger of cancellation.  However, we were saved by Coppards Plant Hire of Crowborough, who very kindly came to our rescue and sponsored the rounds with the free loan of a towing vehicle. Without this help, Father Christmas would not have been able to visit the children as normal and we give our very grateful thanks for their generosity.

RUNNING UP THAT HILL - Kate Bush was not in attendance to see the competitors run up Palesgate Lane in this year's Crowborough Runners 10k event marshaled by Crowborough Lions in Jarvis Brook. The town's drivers showed their customary patience and understanding as the field ran two laps of the demanding course.

Crowborough Runners kindly donated £300 to the Lions for their efforts and shown (pictured l to r) are club president Terry Mason and secretary Frank Lees receiving the cheque from Runners' chairman John Tighe.

Just two points covered the top three places in last Saturday's event. At the halfway mark, last years winners 'Crowborough Chapter' were tied with 'Two+Two+Two' but the latter just edged it in the second half to triumph by a single point. 'Jen Helps the Aged' finished third just a further point behind.
